Context window

How much text an AI model can consider at once, measured in tokens.

A context window is how much text an AI model can consider at once. It is measured in tokens, the small chunks of text models read and generate.

A larger window lets a model take in more of a page or conversation before it answers, which can mean richer, more accurate responses.

It is part of why some answers feel more thorough than others: the model simply had room to consider more at once.
