Knowledge cutoff

Roughly how current an AI model's world knowledge is.

A knowledge cutoff is roughly how current an AI model's world knowledge is. Events or changes after that point may simply be unknown to the model.

This includes recent changes at your own company. A rebrand, a new product or a fresh launch may not yet be part of what the model knows.

It is a useful reminder that AI describes the version of you it learned about, which may lag behind where you are today.
